Renée's Testimony to Council

Renée Bowser is no stranger to the City Council nor other decision-making bodies here in the District. She makes sure her Single-Member District constituents are represented fairly and clearly before our elected leaders on a regular basis. Her testimony makes it clear where she stands on important issues and she will bring her outspoken and thoughtful ideas with her to the Council if you giver her your vote on May 1.

  • Testimony on Jobs and Training
Testimony to City Council highlighting a potential law that would bring accountability to businesses that don't produce the jobs or training they promise to District residents.
  • Testimony Against Fenty's School Board Takeover
Testimony before City Council against Fenty's schools takeover bill that essentially reduces the duly elected Board of Education to a superfluous and toothless organization leaving parents, students, teachers, and the community with little to no authority to exact change at community schools.
  • Testimony Against EdBuild
Testimony to City Council about the dangers of granting authority of the project to modernize our schools to the closeted pseudo-governmental EdBuild organization.
  • Testimony on Additional School Funding
Testimony to the Council asking them to put on their thinking caps and pass the School Modernization Bill.
  • Testimony Demanding Strong District Wide Inclusionary Zoning Practices
Testimony before the City Council which concludes that 'mandatory inclusionary zoning' *must* be one of the District’s affordable housing initiatives if we are to preserve and promote the economic and racial diversity of our communities, like Petworth.
